The story of an immigrant and his success
In 2003, Ingo Scholz, the founder and president of Fenstermann LLC immigrated on an investor visa to San Diego, CA and started the company on Nov 03, 2003.
The company specialized in windows, doors and window coverings made in Germany – these unique windows that tilt and turn and the unique shades that open bottom-up top-down.
This type of windows was quite new to the US market and the first few years were challenging. The 2007/2008 financial crisis didn’t help an upcoming company either.
But Fenstermann LLC always stayed true to its values which are responsibility, trust, reliability and quality; so, we thrived and grew in sales and people over the next few years.
In 2015, Fenstermann did a major shift in its product line and turned to its true passion: interior design and window coverings. The market asked for a window shade that works for a tilt and turn window, for folding doors and for narrow depth trims and walls and we had these blinds and shades already in our portfolio.
The demand was so high from all over the US and Canada, that we were not able to fulfill all orders including installation. This is when we sat down with our German manufacturer and developed self-installation options that some of them are drill-free or even tool-free installation. This was extremely well received by our clients as many of our 5-star reviews show.
In 2021, Fenstermann LLC did something that everybody said was not possible. We invented worlds first Child Safe Bottom-up Top-down shade with not accessible strings and got awarded the ‘Best of Blind’ Award by public vote from Archello – the leading company when it comes to new products and achievements in construction.
